How Offsite Ads works
Etsy buys ads for listings on sites such as Google, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. You pay nothing when the ad runs. If a shopper clicks an ad for one of your listings and buys from your shop within 30 days, Etsy charges a fee on the whole order.
The rates
- 15% for shops that made under $10,000 in the past 12 months.
- 12% for shops over $10,000.
- The fee is capped at $100 per order.
The fee is calculated on the order total, including shipping and gift wrap.
What it does to an order

On a $40 order, normal fees are about $4.25. An Offsite Ads sale adds $6.00, bringing the total to about $10.25. Above about $667, the $100 cap starts to help.
Can you opt out?
Shops under $10,000 in yearly sales can opt out in their settings. Once a shop reaches $10,000, participation is mandatory at the 12% rate.
Pricing for it
Check your shop stats to see what share of orders comes from Offsite Ads. If it is 10% of orders, your average extra cost is 1.5% of revenue, not 15%. Build that average into your prices, and check that your lowest-margin items still break even on an ad sale. Our guide to pricing Etsy products shows how.
