When Cash App charges fees
Sending and receiving money on a personal Cash App account is free when the money comes from a Cash App balance, a linked debit card or a bank account. Fees start in three situations.
The first is a business account. Cash App for Business charges 2.75% on every payment you receive. The second is paying with a credit card, which costs the sender 3%. The third is instant deposit. Standard transfers to your bank take one to three business days and are free, while instant deposits arrive in minutes for a fee of 0.5% to 1.75% of the amount, with a minimum of $0.25.
Personal or business account?
Cash App’s terms say personal accounts are for personal use. If you regularly take payments for goods or services, Cash App can move you to a business account. Build the 2.75% into your prices from the start so the switch does not cut into your margin.
