Personal vs business
Cash App’s terms say personal accounts are for personal use. If you are selling products or services, you should use a business account. Read Cash App business account fees for the details, including what happens when an account is switched.
Taxes
Payment apps report payments for goods and services on Form 1099-K once you pass the federal reporting threshold. Money from friends and family for personal reasons is not income. Keep records either way; this is general information rather than tax advice.
Getting paid faster
If you use instant deposit often, the fee can cost more than the business fee itself. See Cash App instant deposit fees for when it is worth it. And if you are choosing between apps, read Cash App vs PayPal fees.
