How Cash App compares
At 2.75% with no fixed fee, Cash App is cheaper than PayPal’s goods and services rate of 3.49% plus $0.49 on almost every amount. It is close to Square’s in-person rate of 2.6% plus $0.15. See Cash App vs PayPal and the Square fee calculator for side-by-side numbers.
Pricing with the fee
To receive a set amount, divide by 0.9725. To receive $100, charge $102.83. The calculator’s take-home field does this automatically.
Switching from personal
If Cash App sees regular commercial payments on a personal account, it may convert the account to business. It is better to switch yourself and raise prices slightly than to find your margin shrinking by surprise.
