Open the Cash App US fee calculatorLinking a credit card to Cash App is allowed, but sending money with it costs 3%. That fee is paid by the person sending, not the person receiving. Here is what it means for you and your customers. Choose the credit card option in the Cash App fee calculator to check any amount.
The fee
When you send money using a credit card as the funding source, Cash App adds 3% to the payment. The recipient receives the full amount. A debit card, bank account or Cash App balance costs nothing.
| Payment | Total fees | Payout | Fees % |
|---|---|---|---|
| $20.00 | $0.60 | $19.40 | 3.00% |
| $50.00 | $1.50 | $48.50 | 3.00% |
| $100.00 | $3.00 | $97.00 | 3.00% |
| $250.00 | $7.50 | $242.50 | 3.00% |
| $500.00 | $15.00 | $485.00 | 3.00% |
Cash advance risk
Some card issuers treat payments to peer-to-peer apps as a cash advance. That can mean an extra cash advance fee, a higher interest rate and no grace period. Check your card terms before using it this way. The 3% Cash App fee may be the smaller of the two costs.
For sellers
If a customer pays you with a credit card, they pay the 3%. Your business account still pays its 2.75% on the amount you receive. There is no need to adjust your price, although some customers may prefer paying by debit card to avoid the fee.
Cheaper ways to pay by card
For businesses that want to take card payments properly, a card processor such as Square or Stripe lets customers pay by credit card with the fee charged to the business, and with better records for both sides.
