Want your own numbers? The Depop calculator shows every fee and your profit as you type.
Open the Depop US fee calculatorDepop buyers expect to make offers, and many sellers price low to sell fast. That is fine, as long as you know your floor. This method gives you a starting price and a lowest acceptable offer. Use the Depop fee calculator for the maths.
1. Check sold listings
Search for similar items and look at what has actually sold, not what is listed. Note brand, condition and size. Vintage and rare pieces can sell well above retail; fast-fashion basics rarely do.
2. Know your costs
Include what you paid for the item, postage and packaging. If you sourced it in a bundle, split the bundle cost across the pieces.
3. Assume the worst case
Price as if the item sells through a boost, so you are never caught out. Here is an item that cost $8, with $5.50 postage and $0.75 packaging.
| Price | Total fees | Payout | Fees % | Profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $18.00 | $2.48 | $15.52 | 13.80% | $1.27 |
| $22.00 | $2.94 | $19.06 | 13.35% | $4.81 |
| $26.00 | $3.39 | $22.61 | 13.03% | $8.36 |
| $30.00 | $3.84 | $26.16 | 12.80% | $11.91 |
| $35.00 | $4.41 | $30.60 | 12.59% | $16.35 |
| $40.00 | $4.97 | $35.03 | 12.43% | $20.78 |
At $22 it makes about $4.81 even with the boost. At $30 it makes about $11.91.
4. Leave room for offers
Most Depop buyers offer 10% to 20% below the listed price. Set your list price so that the offer you would accept still leaves the profit you want. The break-even line in the calculator is your absolute floor.
5. Use free shipping carefully
Free shipping can help conversion, but the label comes out of your side. Build it into the price or use calculated shipping on heavy items. See Depop shipping costs.
6. Review old listings
If an item has not sold in a few weeks, refresh the photos, lower the price a little or try a boost. Read whether boosting is worth it before you do.
