Open the Reverb US fee calculatorMusicians know what gear is worth, so pricing on Reverb rewards accuracy. Too high and the listing sits; too low and you leave money behind. This method keeps you in the right range. Run your numbers in the Reverb fee calculator.
1. Start with the price guide
Reverb’s price guide shows recent sale prices for specific makes and models. It is the best starting point, because it reflects what buyers actually paid.
2. Adjust for condition
Condition grades matter. A pedal in excellent condition with its box can sell well above one in good condition. Be honest in the grading; returns are costly.
3. Add shipping and fees
Decide whether to charge shipping or offer it free, then let the calculator subtract fees. Here is a pedal bought for $120, shipped for $12 with free shipping to the buyer.
| Price | Total fees | Payout | Fees % | Profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $140.00 | $11.96 | $128.04 | 8.54% | −$3.96 |
| $160.00 | $13.59 | $146.41 | 8.50% | $14.41 |
| $180.00 | $15.23 | $164.77 | 8.46% | $32.77 |
| $200.00 | $16.87 | $183.13 | 8.44% | $51.13 |
| $220.00 | $18.51 | $201.49 | 8.41% | $69.49 |
| $250.00 | $20.97 | $229.04 | 8.39% | $97.04 |
At $160, profit is about $14.41. At $200, it is about $51.13. Fees take roughly 8% to 9% at these prices.
4. Leave room for offers
Reverb lets buyers make offers, and most do. List a little above your target so a reasonable offer still leaves the profit you want.
5. Watch your listing
If a listing gets views but no offers, the price is probably high. If it gets watchers and lowball offers, a small price drop can trigger notifications to watchers and close the sale. Bump is another option; see the Bump guide.
For fee details see Reverb fees explained, and for expensive guitars compare with eBay’s guitar rate.
